Gajoldoba:Two youths killed in elephant attack in Gazaldoba, administration holds important meeting after incident, assures compensation and security. An administrative meeting was held at Gazaldoba police outpost on Friday after the death of two youths in an elephant attack in Takimari, Gazaldoba. Baikunthapur Forest Department DFO M Raja, Rajganj MLA Khageshwar Roy, Bhorer Alo Police Station OC Sandeep Dutta, Rajganj Panchayat Samiti President Rupali De Sarkar, ADFO Rajiv Lama, Arindam Banerjee and other range rangers and public representatives were present in the meeting.

Baikunthapur Division DFO M Raj said that the families of the deceased will be given a compensation of Rs 5 lakh as fixed by the government and a government job for one member of the family. At the same time, it has been decided to install additional fencing in the area in view of the demands of the villagers.  The issue of forming a Quick Response Team (QRT) with the locals was also discussed, and the Forest Department assured of its speedy implementation.

Rajganj MLA Khageshwar Roy said, “The death of two youths in an elephant attack is deeply painful. In today’s meeting, detailed discussions were held with the Forest Department officials so that the families get government assistance quickly. In addition, NOC has been sought for the repair of the road from Bhalobasho Mor to Takimadi. This road passes through the forest, so NOC has been sought, and the Forest Department has assured to provide it quickly.”
