Binnaguri: An ingenious attempt to smuggle ganja was foiled by the police. Acting on a tip-off, Bhorey Alo Police conducted a special operation and seized approximately 35 kilograms of Ganja. In this sensational incident, three women traffickers were arrested, who were reportedly concealing the contraband within broomsticks.

The incident took place in Pagla Basti of Krishnanagar area under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat, near Siliguri. The arrested individuals have been identified as Chaina Das, Bharati Haldar, and Kanika Haldar. According to police sources, Bharati and Kanika are mother and daughter. It is suspected that they have been involved in such illegal activities for quite some time.

The operation was led by Officer-in-Charge Sandeep Dutta of Bhorey Alo Police Station. Circle II ACP Somnath Das later visited the spot, reviewed the situation, and instructed the team to speed up the investigation.

The incident has sparked widespread sensation in the area. Local residents were shocked, as they had no idea that such illegal operations were being carried out right in their vicinity.

According to the police, further interrogation of the arrested individuals is underway to uncover the masterminds behind this trafficking network.
