DFO inspected the road of Baikunthpur Forest along with Rajganj MLA.

Gazoldoba: The one and a half kilometer road from Bhalobasha Mor on Kalen Road in Siliguri Gazoldoba to Khatkhati has been in a dilapidated condition for a long time. Thousands of people from about 8 booths in the Mandatari area including Maharaj Ghat, Dudhia, Takimari Bazar have to travel about 10-12 kilometers via Milanpalli to Siliguri for their livelihood every day, resulting in great inconvenience to the common people. Especially the vegetable vendors of this area, the workers who sell vegetables in Siliguri and do laborer's work have to suffer this inconvenience every day.  The road from Kalen Road to Khatakti, from Bhalobasha Mod, is almost one and a half kilometers in length, and as it passes through the Baikunthpur jungle, it is not possible to travel quickly, yet workers and hard-working people travel on this road, risking their lives. This is because elephants are a constant nuisance in this area. A few days ago, a resident of Maharaj Ghat named Rajesh Orao lost his life in a wild elephant attack while traveling on this road.

Keeping in mind the concerns of thousands of ordinary people in this area, the Rajganj MLA proposed to the DFO during a meeting at Gajoldoba Police outpost today to issue an NOC so that the MLA can repair this road.

After that, DFO Raja M. accompanied the MLA to inspect the road in Bhalobasha Mor area.  Rajganj Panchayat Samity President Rupali De Sarkar, District parishad Member Ranbir Majumder, ADFO Rajib Lama, OC of Bhorer Alo Police Station and Gazaldoba Outpost, Arindam Banerjee and many other local administration officials were present.

After that, the work on the Chiulibari Shimulguri connecting bridge near the road is closed due to the lack of NOC from the Forest Department. This team also went to inspect there.
